Duplicate Content

Duplicate content in SEO refers to re-using content from another website or on another page of your own website. Google defines duplicate content as ‘substantial blocks of content’ with ‘largely the same content’. A page largely made up of duplicate content will never achieve high rankings in search results. The principle is simple enough, when Google finds two pages with identical content, it has to choose which page to show first in search results. In almost all cases, Google with pick the original page. On your own website, duplicate content doesn’t necessarily cause any issues, so long as you clarify which page is the original one by using canonical tags.
