Authority is one of the three main pillars of SEO. This pillar is an indication to the general importance of a domain. The more important a website, the easier it will be to achieve high rankings in search results for relevant keywords. SEO authority is not only applicable to domains, but also to backlinks coming from that domain. A link from an authoritative source holds more value than those coming from less important sources.
